Where was the original manufacturing plant for the Corvette?

In 1953 the first 300 Corvettes were produced in Flint, Michigan, each built by hand taking about 2 days to complete. After that, mass production began in St. Louis Missouri, where it remained until the Bowling Green, Kentucky plant opened in 1981. Prior to COVID-19, 2020 C8 Corvettes were rolling off the assembly line at a rapid rate 11.6 units per hour.
